VSGA Senior Amateur Qualifying
ELIGIBILITY
Open to VSGA members who will be 50 years of age by August 12, 2019. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES
Qualifying
Players competing in a qualifier are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $75 by Monday, July 22, 2019. The $75 qualifying fee does not include the mandatory course fee at the qualifier, which must be paid to the host club prior to the qualifying round. However, the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers. The VSGA will also negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host clubs.
Successful Qualifiers
Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $185 by August 9, 2019 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with The Homestead.
Exempt Players
Exempt players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $260 by Monday, July 22, 2019. Entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with The Homestead.
FORMAT
Qualifying
All non-exempt players must qualify to play in the championship. A player may only compete in one qualifier and each qualifier will be 18-holes of stroke play. Sites will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.
Championship Proper - 84 Players (includes all qualifiers and exempt players)
August 12-13 – Stroke play qualifying (18 holes per day); the low 32 players advance to match play
August 14 – Rounds One and Two of match play
August 15 – Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches
August 16 – 18-hole match play final

PRIZES
The Champion, Finalist and Semifinalists receive gift certificates and trophies. All match play qualifiers will receive a gift certificate. All players that qualify for the Championship will receive a gift. The on-site qualifying medalist(s) will receive a VSGA medal.

Senior State Open Qualifying

ENTRY FEE/METHOD OF PAYMENT/DEADLINE
Qualifiers
All non-exempt amateurs will be required to pay a qualifier fee of $75 by Monday, July 22, 2019. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with Independence Golf Club. All exempt amateur entry forms must be received in the VSGA Office by Monday, July 22, 2019.
FORMAT

TIES/PRIZES
The overall Champion will be the individual with the lowest score. A tie for the overall Champion will be determined by a sudden death playoff, all other ties will split prizes equally. The Senior Open of Virginia Champion will have his name engraved on the Harry W. Easterly, Jr. Trophy.
